3 Mistakes Everyone Makes with Jewelry Display Cases

Mistakes Everyone Makes with Jewelry Display Cases

A perfect display arrangement. Simple and sleek
Here is a great example of a simple and sleek display!

Jewelry display cases are a great way to highlight your favorite jewelry in your collection, but there are many rookie mistakes that most everyone makes when it comes to their jewelry display cases. Let’s take a look at 3 mistakes you definitely want to avoid with your own jewelry displays.

Mistake #1: Buying the wrong kind of display case

A ring show tray is a perfect way of displaying wedding bands. The tray should ADD not DISTRACT!

There are many different types of jewelry displays and many of them are designed with specific jewelry (such as necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings) in mind. Some displays are meant to hold more than one type of jewelry, while others are designed to showcase just one type. Make sure you are buying the right type of displays for the jewelry you want to showcase!

Mistake #2: Not rotating out their collection

Vary your supplies by pairing unique pieces together. Too much of a good thing can convey a lack of variety.

Far too many people simply put some jewelry on their display stands and never change things up; however, rotating your collection onto your jewelry displays is a great way to highlight all of your favorite jewelry instead of just one thing. In addition, rotating jewelry on display can make it more likely that you’ll wear it instead of leaving it to gather dust in a drawer somewhere.

Mistake #3: Overcrowding their jewelry displays

It can be hard for a customer to navigate your jewelry, if there’s a high clumping of interest.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to jewelry display cases is overcrowding their displays. You don’t need to have everything on display all at once, and it’s better to have a handful of items that can be spaced out in an aesthetically pleasing way than to cram a bunch of jewelry onto a single display. Overcrowding looks messy, unappealing and can even result in problems such as tangled bracelets or necklaces or even scratched gemstones if you’re not careful. Remember: less is more when it comes to your jewelry display cases.

Title: 3 Work-Appropriate Jewelry Tips: Can’t Miss

There are a few things about jewelry that everyone should know, especially when they’ve started to amass a larger jewelry collection; this includes things like knowing how to use jewelry display stands to highlight your favorite pieces, knowing how to keep your jewelry clean, knowing how to use jewelry display stands to keep your jewelry stored properly, knowing how to wear complimentary pieces, and so on. But one area of jewelry-wearing is often over-looked: work-appropriate jewelry. How can you be sure your jewelry is appropriate to wear in the workplace? Let’s take a look at 3 work-appropriate jewelry tips that you can’t afford to miss.

Tip #1: Remove one piece before you leave the house.

This tip is often touted as being a general rule of thumb of jewelry, but it’s definitely more of an essential tip when it comes to the workplace. You don’t want to look like you’re overdoing it with the accessories, so it’s best to keep it simple; as a general rule of thumb, two jewelry accessories (or three if they are very simple and not flashy) is enough for most workdays.

Tip #2: You can go bold—but only wear one piece that day

If you’re itching to wear your favorite bold chunky pendant necklace, never fret: you can wear it in the workplace! Just be sure that it’s the only piece of jewelry you’re wearing that day. Bold pieces draw a lot of attention and it’s better to wear one statement piece than a statement piece plus 5 other accessories.

Tip #3: Stick to the rules!

It’s vital that you read up on your workplace’s rules regarding jewelry before you leave the house. Your workplace may have rules about wearing certain types of jewelry for safety or hygienic reasons, or rules regarding what jewelry is appropriate when you interact with customers, teach

New, Lower Prices!

lower prices

Dear Friends,

If you’ve been following our emails, you’ve seen the price changes we’ve been making in recent weeks. We are very excited about these lower prices and wanted to share with you why we’re doing this and what it means for you.

It has always been the goal of Gems on Display to assist you in every way possible as you take your company to the next level. Whether that has been through jewelry displays, packaging, custom logo printing, or all of the above, our commitment to you has remained unchanged. Providing you with excellent customer service, high quality products and affordable prices is important to us.

After some thought, we’ve decided that we can serve you best by re-evaluating our pricing and making reductions wherever we are able. It won’t happen all at once, but we’re going through our inventory piece by piece to see where we can make things more affordable for you.

We’ll also be continuing our offer of free shipping for orders over $75 and flat rate shipping for orders under $75. * It may appear that some of our competitors have lower product costs, but you’ll find that when you add in their shipping costs, your total order cost will be higher than anticipated. We don’t think this is fair to you, which is why we’re lowering prices and keeping our shipping simple. We want your total order cost to be as affordable as possible.

One final note, we haven’t changed products or suppliers. The only time we do that is when we’re able to offer you a better product or value. These price reductions are for the same products you know and love. (Spoiler alert: some of these price cuts are as high as 45%!)

Enjoy shopping!

Warmly,

Rick G.

After all, the less time you spend setting up, the more time you can spend selling. Necklace Easel Display Style

Why are they so great for travel? Well, in addition to being lightweight, easels pack nearly flat, which really helps save on precious space during travel. Easels are the perfect accompaniment for chains, pendant necklaces, and thinly beaded necklaces.

Hello, Summer!

Spring is nearly over and summer is just around the corner! Our thoughts have been full of summer displays and packaging ideas and our inspiration is coming from our new burlap jewelry display line and the chevron merchandise bags. What lovely items have been your inspiration this year?

The burlap jewelry displays are just dreamy… a grainy, textured surface speckled with brown and beige makes these displays overflow with charm and character. Deep jewel tones really stand out against this background (we’re talking about those purples and greens and blues), although, if we’re really being honest, just about any jewelry style will be complemented by the burlap displays. From shabby chic to indie to rustic elegance, these displays will make your style stand out even more.

And those chevron bags? Can we just say y-u-m? If your head isn’t spinning with thoughts of summertime fun after looking through these bags, we don’t know what’ll get you there. They make us think of warm air, picnics on the beach, and juicy slices of watermelon. Each one of these six different colors makes us think of another summer memory. Pair any of the colorful chevron bags with either tissue paper or raffia for a cheerful summer packaging look.

Creative Gift Packaging

Packaging the items your customers have just purchased doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated! There are a few ways to package that are simple, pretty, and won’t break your budget.

Drawstring Pouches

organza pouch

Pouches are an attractive and inexpensive way to gift wrap almost any small item. There is a lot of room for creativity or special edition packaging since pouches are available in such a wide range of colors and fabrics. Organza might be great for spring, velvet for winter, and a metallic silver or gold for the holidays. You can also keep packaging consistent by always using an organza pouch, but changing the colors depending on the time of year.

Raffia-wrapped Boxes

raffia ribbon

Cotton-filled boxes wrapped with raffia (or ribbon) are a great way to package! You can easily customize the colors to complement your branding, the season, product promotions and more.

Tissue Paper, Kraft paper, or Newsprint

tissue paper

Another creative gift packaging idea is to wrap your products in either a colorful tissue paper or in newspaper. Like the cotton-filled boxes, this method of packaging is easily accented with raffia of ribbon. Consider using an accent color or two that will match your logo, as this will help you with branding at a minimal cost.

Ring Displays for Wedding Season

It’s springtime, and love is in the air! It’s wedding season, and we know you’re putting together some great ring displays. Want to know some of our favorites?

Finger Displays. This type of display is excellent for showing ring sets, or a line of wedding rings or bands. These work well in a showcase or on a jewelry display table, and come with a few options. There’s the single ring finger display, the double, the five-finger and the 12-finger ring display. The smaller finger displays are best suited for wedding sets, or special engagement rings you want to set apart from the others. The larger displays work very well for displaying different styles of rings or organizing them by cut, carat, or color.

Jewelry Boxes on Risers. This works very well for window displays and creates an elegant, eye-grabbing look that will draw your customers in for another look. Find a riser set and some high-quality jewelry boxes that matches your decor, arrange in your front window and display your rings!

Ring Risers. There are risers that are specifically created for rings. They typically have a ring flap, and you place the ring behind this ring flap to keep it secure. This look works well for both window displays and even inside of a showcase.

Slot Displays. This type of display is ideal for use within a showcase and perfect for  displaying a line of engagement rings or wedding bands.  These are typically angled displays, which makes it easier for your customers to view and browse your jewelry. Rings easily slide into the slots on the display, and are easy for you to remove and show to interested customers.
